PM Film Production is a Berlin-based independent film company, developing and producing cinematic work with artistic integrity, emotional depth, and social urgency.
We make films that center underrepresented narratives, underground art scenes, queer perspectives, and urgent realities from around the world.
Rooted in contemporary arthouse cinema, hybrid documentary, and the visual language of analog film, we work across the intersection of documentary and fiction, observation and performance, intimacy and political reality.
Our first feature documentary, TO DANCE IS TO RESIST, follows queer dancers from Kyiv’s underground scene as they navigate identity, love, and war. It reflects a wider commitment to stories that emerge from communities of resistance and transformation.

A queer couple and professional dancers, Jay and Vol’demar, find strength and community in Kyiv’s underground rave scene, where dance becomes both survival and resistance in the face of war.
As air-raid sirens interrupt the night, the pair turn to dance studios, clubs and stages as places of refuge, transforming movement into an act of resistance. With intimate access, the film captures tender moments at home during blackouts, rehearsals where bodies carry and release trauma, and raves that pulse with both joy and danger.
Structured as a poetic, non-linear journey, it blends vérité with performance and immersive cinematography. Sirens fold into synths, laughter interrupts the quiet, and the city emerges as a living character: wounded, yet resilient.

We move between documentary and fiction, observation and performance, because the truth of a scene rarely sits in one of them. We work in the language of analog film, treating grain, light and time as material rather than nostalgia. Every project begins with access and trust, and stays close to the people it is about, from first idea to final print.
